The Short Version

We're a small team of senior engineers based in Mexico, building enterprise-grade infrastructure for companies worldwide. We started with startups, scaled into platform engineering, and now we're bringing modern software practices to the energy sector.

We ship. We don't do 47 meetings before writing code.

The Origin Story

FuzzyFlags was founded in 2022 by Alfredo García after turning down a full-time offer at Google in Palo Alto to return to Mexico.

The bet was simple: build an international engineering company from Mexico that could have startup-like impact on the world — not just optimize ads or engagement metrics at big tech.

Alfredo started coding at 15, landed his first developer job at 17, studied Robotics and Digital Systems at Tec de Monterrey (Mexico's MIT equivalent), and interned at Google on the productivity engineering team for Google Assistant. Nine years of engineering experience later, FuzzyFlags is the result of choosing impact over comfort.

The Journey So Far

2022 — Founded in Monterrey. Two founders, big ambitions, zero clients.

2023 — Exploration year. Tried different markets, different services, learned what actually works.

2024 — Found product-market fit. Started delivering foundational development services for startups and companies across the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.

2025 — Scaled into transformation. Watched our clients hit infrastructure ceilings and evolved to help them break through — Kubernetes, cloud architecture, platform engineering.

2026 — Entering energy. Taking everything we've learned about scaling software systems and applying it to the industry that powers civilization.

Why "FuzzyFlags"?

The name comes from two places:

Fuzzy — from fuzzy logic and fuzzy methods in robotics, a nod to our founder's background in robotics engineering.

Flags — from feature flags, the toggling systems used at companies like Google to ship code safely and fast.

Two technical concepts that sounded fun together. We're currently rebranding to just FZF — shorter, cleaner, same hacker energy.

The Team Today

We intentionally stay small. We grew to 10 people, then deliberately shrank back to 3-4.

Why? Quality over quantity. We'd rather be a small, specialized, fast-moving team of exceptional engineers than a bloated agency selling junior developers at senior rates.

Our team is distributed across Mexico — Mérida, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, Cancún, Saltillo — with occasional collaborators from Colombia. Remote-first, async-friendly, focused on output not hours.

"They are as good as any MIT engineers we've hired." — Product Manager, MIT

Who We're Looking For (Clients & Engineers)

We work best with people who share our values:

  • Ambitious — You want to build something that matters, not just collect a paycheck
  • Technical — You appreciate engineering excellence and care about doing things right
  • Direct — You'd rather have an honest conversation than a polished presentation
  • Global-minded — You're thinking beyond your local market

If you're a company that needs infrastructure that actually works, or an engineer who wants to work on meaningful problems with people who take the craft seriously — let's talk.

Why Energy?

We believe energy tells everything about a civilization.

The better humanity gets at harnessing energy, the farther we'll go — as a species, as a civilization, in this universe. Energy is fundamental. It's not a trend that will be disrupted by the next social app. It's the foundation everything else is built on.

We want to be part of solving that. Not building another attention-harvesting platform or fraudulent fintech scheme. Real infrastructure for real energy systems that move the world forward.

Our 15-year vision? Commercializing and servicing nuclear fusion systems.

That's the kind of impact we're building toward. One deployment at a time.
